If it works,

imagek.com

i think it would affect Sandisk, though in the long term flash memory will be in a lot more places than just cameras.

There is no info there about prices, availability etc. Do you know if this is real or a planned project?

Humbly report, Robby, imagek.com is one way to approach the existing 35mm film camera's utilization of digital capture.

How it will impact SanDisk I have no idea, but when I let my imagination fly, this is what I see:

The many camera manufactures that already use SanDisk technology in their digital offerings, my soon offer "Digital DataBack" capabilities.

At the store it may soon be your choice: The standard 35mm camera body as you know and love it (color film consumption is up 6% for 1997) with the plain vanilla back or, for a premium, get the camera body with the really cool new "Digital DataBack", which will know - when there is no film in the camera - to switch to the digital capture mode (2mil+ pixel array), and will store the images on removable SanDisks. :-)

Hey, I can dream, can't I? ;-)
