many republicans are not conservatives they are democrats. where ever they were running there mostly likely was a favorite democrat that was solid in office. so they ran on republican ticket and got elected. imo i believe most of the congress is on the take for bucks for their vote by some organization or organizations. congress no longer represents the wishes of the people.
