Doren, Why do Americans pay 10x as much as other countries? a) Because we Americans can afford to. (No need to tell me that we can't, because we've been doing it for decades now while still enjoying a standard of living that's the envy of the world.) b) Because Big Pharma has the pricing power, and that's by regulatory design. c) Because the money that fuels Big Pharma's "obscene profits" also fuels research, innovation, and entrepreneurship that maintains Big Pharma's edge. d) Because if America got the same price controls as other countries, Big Pharma would be decimated, and America would lose one of its most underappreciated advantages in the global economy.
