Good Morning Worswick,

Just had a fascinating dinner with a senior guy from Proton, (a customer of my wife's company). Its going to be a long dry spell. Major cutbacks , as much as 50% dimishment of forecast over the next 3 quarters.

Aside from that he was a very affable fellow, a devout Muslim, parents were rubber tappers, he earned his way through university.

Best.
Stitch

Worswick you asked:
How long do you think it will be before India has "transparency" in her markets and will let foreign investors freely in and out via broker accounts, say, in Bombay.

This I can not say, perhaps the following news item may give you some idea. I am afraid this SEA crisis might have spooked the Indian regulators and policy makers a bit and hence it might take a little longer, and this is pure speculation on my part. Who knows, a lot of it will depend on the new government expected to be sworn in sometime in the latter part of March.
