The house I'm living in was built in 1933. Other than hail damage from thunderstorms, Never flooded or any hurricane damage until 2005. Katrina.
2021 Ida did a # on my roof. Causing water intrusion and about $150k in damage. Like a good neighbor my adjuster was there, did me right.
Then the next war comes with finding a contractor that will do you right. I've learned a thing or 3 when it comes to home contractors.

I know many people who abandoned NOLA after their homes being flooded out in 2005. Since then the properties have doubled and tripled in value.

It does seem like the storms are getting larger... for whatever reason
