I know exactly what you’re saying, Bob. But, you know the math. We’re already paying over a trillion in interest - and, we pay with borrowed money. Nobody will deny us, good citizens, the borrowed helicopter money. You’re right, it just won’t happen. May as well enjoy the ride. And, when things go wrong - as equity investors, we may even win out on the wealth redistribution which will take place. More likely than not, owning the nation’s productive capacity will offer some protection against severe inflation and all that.
