>> You think Musk is Superman, and that he's blocking "attacks on free speech" like bullets bouncing off of Superman's chest.

Two things can be true. Yes, Musk is relatively a superman. More super than you or me. Or anyone we know. And he is worthy of being listened to. Free Speech was prized by the founders, and Musk's willing to put up billions to curtail the collapse of free speech in America is something he will be long remembered for. It may or may not be alongside the popularization of EVs, travel to Mars, Starlink, or other things, but to date, it is his most important accomplishment.

I'm surprised you don't have more appreciation for what he did here. This was a part of an early draft:
"The people shall not be deprived or abridged of their right to speak, to write, or to publish their sentiments; and the freedom of the press, as one of the great bulwarks of liberty, shall be inviolable."

“The people shall not be restrained from peaceably assembling and consulting for their common good; nor from applying to the legislature by petitions, or remonstrances for redress of their grievances.”

Perhaps you don't understand the free speech issue as it relates to our constitution. Free speech was an absolute provision of the Bill of Rights, and it was the most important of all of our rights.
The Founders understood and believed that the ability to speak and worship freely was a fundamental right that required protection. While one can argue about whether an actual infringement occurred with respect to our government pressuring Twitter, it was certainly on the borderline of a First Amendment violation and one that could have easily become oppressive.

If government coerces or controls social media platforms to suppress viewpoints, that clearly is a First Amendment violation. And several court rulings held that the FBI, along with other federal agencies, coerced or significantly encouraged social media platforms to suppress certain content.

HOW IS THAT NOT A THREAT TO OUR FREE SPEECH?

This is pretty serious stuff.

Biden administration coerced social media giants into possible free speech violations: court
USA TODAY

The White House, health officials and the FBI may have violated the First Amendment rights of people posting about COVID-19 and elections on social media by pressuring technology companies to suppress or remove the posts, a federal appeals court ruled late Friday.

The decision from the conservative 5th Circuit Court of Appeals partly upheld an order from a Louisiana federal judge that blocked many federal agencies from having contact with companies like Facebook, YouTube and X, formerly Twitter, about content moderation.

But the 75-page opinion from three-judge panel also significantly narrowed the scope of the order that was a major victory for conservatives.
You may want to give this topic more thought.
