He cut his ear when he went to the ground and then smeared blood all over his face. The rump is a liar. Remember his first speech after the "attempt" he said he would repeat the story once and only once. I was just too painful to recall. He has spewed the same drivel every speech at nauseum since. Poor donny cut his ear but his doctor said it was a miracle he survived that very serious ear injury.
