from Reddit I've lost my mom and dad. They're in the path of the hurricane. Won't evacuate because "the hurricane is political and they're making it with airplanes" Boomer Story I've known for a while that my parents were deep in the MAGA hole and I've done my best to ignore it. They live on the other side of the country from me. Today I learned from my sister that my Mom and Dad are refusing to evacuate because this hurricane is just the democrats trying to win Florida. What the fuck are we supposed to do about this as a society? What percentage of people are this far off the deep end? I tried speaking to them about this and they just flipped out and called me uninformed and hung up. I'm really sad for our country right now. I don't know how we're supposed to deal with a (significant?) portion of the country this far under the spell of twitter bullshit..
