Getgo: I just had a look at the prices. Damn that's a lot of red...

Not an expert here. But today is options expiration day - that may have some effect here.

Whether the run in the SOX is over, I don't think so. I hope not. I have not finished milking this cow yet!

Watch what INTC and the leaders do. They will likely determine market direction. No idea what caused VLSI to sink like a stone (that's why I thought it was OK to take some off the table there - it has risen the fastest of the 20 in Value Line I think. VLSI has a problem with communications area in SEA where I think the full impact is still not evident. Might last this q and maybe next. But good company.) ADI also has run up a lot the last couple of days. Probably needs to settle back a bit.

The other thing to watch for is chip sales and for the semi-eqips BTB that should have come out this week and perhaps will come out today (likely not?). I expect semi-equip front end BTB to go down very heavily and the market may be interpreting this as a slowdown in end user demand which would explain the thunking in the semiconductor stocks. A lack of good demand (and excess capacity) is Kurlak's reasoning.

Brieing.com reporting nothing other than ALTR upgrade.

Finally maybe some profit taking. This is Friday after all.

Sorry I could not be of more help. Been quite busy today doing other things.

OK, is anybody going to answer GetGo's Question...Is the run for the SOX over?.. IMHO, GG, it has at least another month to run before we take another cynical look. This move is too powerful to drop dead on a dime.. Remember where you heard that, and consider the source....this could be your big chance to buy PUTs <gg> TSO
