3 is the number of the Triune Godhead (The Father, The Son and the Holy Spirit).

In saying some prayers, one 'strikes' one's chest 3 times (e.g., 3 mea culpas);
In kids' fairy tales, a person is usually allowed to make 3 wishes;
In baseball, one is out on Strike 3, and so on and so forth. Yea, 3 is a significant number.

It is interesting to note that 666 + 666 + 666 = 1998 which some people believe is the First Year of the New Millennium!!! Also note that 6+6+6 = 18; 1+8 = 9; 1+9+9+8 = 27; 2+7 = 9. So this makes 9 a significant-looking number?!?

Note there are 9 openings in the human body (eyes included). And there are 9 planets in our Solar System (Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto).

BTW, the mnemonic, "Man Very Easily Make Jugs Serve Useful Needs Peacefully, helps in remembering the names and order of the planets).

666 is superstitious claptrap. The perfect number was determined to be 7 by mystics. 6 is imperfect because it is 1 shy of seven. Thus, the "divine" number, 777 becomes the "mark of the beast" if 666.

Not the best "science" for a 21st Century world.
