By "social media" I'm referring to substantive outlets. Basically, twitter or FB or maybe a couple of other large media choices.

I don't really want to re-debate this, but I can say with absolute certainty that MY twitter feed has cleaned up greatly since Musk took over, and while there are fewer people posting there, they are more thoughtful and tasteful for the most part than before, without the editing.

I am disappointed that Musk is adding 100 editors to X, but I understand why -- he wants to be able to access countries which do require editing.

But the government intrusion into Twitter was just a bridge way too far.
