Something special about seaside links courses.
Ain't that the truth!

I have no desire to play a parkland course when travelling to Scotland and Ireland, our country is full of them.
Yes, I may be missing some pretty nice courses with that feeling, but I just love being near the water and all the sand dunes.

Sounds like you need to take the bull by the horns and get a trip done, I think you may regret it if you don't.

I have planned 3 trips on my own, if you want any guidance, PM me.

If you want to play the well known courses in both locations, they are pretty much booked solid for summer 2025.
I planned the Ireland trip starting April 2023, for September 2024. The best time to go, (and most expensive), is June July and August.
If you don't care about the famous courses, you can easily book a trip for summer 2025 and still play fabulous courses.
The Old Course, St Andrew's opens the application for the following summer the last week of August through the first week of September, so they are fully booked for next summer. You can always stay in the town and possibly get out any given day when there may be no shows, usually locals, who won't play if it's raining too hard.
I am hopefully returning to Scotland Summer 2027.
