you guys provide great humor on this subject. cpq's world market share is double that of dell's; i.e., it is numerically eaiser to go from 3% world market share (dell) to 6% world market share (with dell's model) than it is to go from 7% world market share (cpq) to 10%. also the percentage different in growth is self explanatory. maybe compaq should sell box systems over the internet too. dell is selling not just box systems over the internet but also memory, and other add-ons - and these "trival" add-ons will continue to grow. this is possibly some of the reason for the w.s.'s bidding up dell at this point (not to mention earnings)
