Hello Ross,

You cannot do a cross lower than the bid, so in order to cross x amount of shares at a discounted price, you have to sell down to the bids until the level that you want to do the cross is reached. In this case there were a considerable amount of heavy bids, so they had to chew through a number of shares to get to the 1.45 level. Crosses can be done anywhere between the bid-ask spread. I hope this clarifies it for you.
