Islam: Perennially Primitive in Its Treatment of Women

Posted on October 18, 2024 by Baron Bodissey

The following report by Clare Lopez was published earlier this month by Sharia TipSheet.

Women Under Sharia

Islam: Perennially Primitive in Its Treatment of Women

by Clare M. Lopez

Woman falls prey to ‘honour’ killing in Swat” [Pakistan] at The Nation, October 14, 2024

  • “This tragic incident spotlights Swat’s disturbing trend of honor killings, with 263 documented cases over the past twelve years.”
Swedish “Court of Appeal rules: Life sentence for murder of “too white” pregnant woman” at FriaTider, October 14, 2024

  • “The Court of Appeal today confirmed the sentence for Mohamedamin Ibrahim, 22, to life imprisonment for the murder of his girlfriend Saga in Örebro. The murder took place when his mother ‘did not accept that he was with a white girl.’” [Google Translate]
“Divorced Afghan child brides forced to return to former husbands under Taliban rule” at Jerusalem Post, September 29, 2024

  • Child marriage is entirely legal under Islamic Law (sharia) because Muhammad is believed to have married Aisha when she was six years old and consummated the marriage (raped her) when she was nine and he was a man of over fifty.
“Taliban leader calls women’s faces a ‘source of temptation’” [Answer: A resounding YES!] by Qaseem Azizi at amu.tv, September 25, 2024

  • Self-control and personal responsibility for one’s actions are unknown concepts for Muslim men living under Islamic Law (sharia).
“Did Muhammad Teach that Women are Stupid and Inferior to Men?” by Sam Shamoun at Answering Islam

  • Excellent resource site… here citing references directly from the Qur’an, Sam Shamoun demonstrates the primitive mentality that prevails in too many societies dominated by sharia.
“Disturbing Footage Emerges of ‘Taliban’ Stoning In Afghanistan” by Abdul Qadir Ghafoori and Frud Bezhan, November 2, 2015

  • Video footage about a stoning by Taliban forces in Afghanistan — the reason the US lost the war in Afghanistan and fled the battlefield in utter chaos in August 2021 is precisely because our civilian and military leaders refused to do their homework on why the Taliban engage in such horrific abuse. That reason is Islam and the Taliban’s devout, faithful, obedience to Islamic Law (sharia). Their mentality sees obedience to sharia as a commandment of the faith that earns them eternity in paradise. We see it as primitive barbarity.
“The Azadi Briefing: Taliban Threatens Former Afghan Policewomen” by Abubakar Siddique at Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, October 11, 2024

  • The Taliban in Afghanistan are threatening Afghan women who served previously in the police force under the Western-backed government (before the USG fled ignominiously in August 2021). Some go into hiding, some are killed by their own relatives for bringing “shame” to the family.
“Double Betrayal: Abuses against Afghan Policewomen, Past and Present” from Human Rights Watch, October 10, 2024

  • This is the HRW report that documented the threats, abuse, and murder perpetrated by the Taliban but also Afghan women’s own relatives not only for having been employed by the previous government, but also simply for engaging in professional work in the law enforcement area at all.
  • Unfortunately, what is missing from both the RFE/RL and HRW reports is the centuries-old basis of such heinous abuse against women as being firmly grounded not only in “cultural practices” but in Islamic Law (sharia) itself.
Afghan Man Cuts Off Wife’s Nose, Lips” by Frud Bezhan at RFE/RL, December 17, 2013

  • Another story from some years ago, but indicative of attitudes and behavior still deeply ingrained among Muslim men and society in Afghanistan and elsewhere. Unfortunately, under sharia, women are considered literally the property of men from birth to death, as children, child brides, and wives. In societies such as those ruled once again by the Taliban in Afghanistan, where such primitive behavior and mindsets are not only accepted but encoded into law, women and girls have no rights.
  • Editor’s Note — It doesn’t matter if the story is from now or a thousand years ago. This all stems from core Islamic doctrine, i.e., the Quran which is the transcribed direct word of Allah and cannot be changed. This is why you see such consistent atrocities over centuries from adherents of Islam who are doomed to remain perennially primitive in their treatment of women.
“The Revenge of Israel’s Women on Hezbollah” by Daniel Greenfield at Front Page, October 9, 2024

  • To end this month’s newsletter on a positive note, here Daniel Greenfield recounts the front-line role of Israeli women in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) in intelligence and observer positions helping to dismantle HAMAS and Hizballah, as well as the too-oft-unheralded strength of Israeli women who hold things together in society and at home as husbands, sons, and brothers head off to combat assignments.
  • Editor’s Note — This is an amazing story: “Some were shocked to learn that Israel’s successful ‘Pagergeddon’ operation had been the work of a female intelligence operative under thirty.”
