Reichers - You are correct, although the Dell site has a choice of monitors, video cards, tape backup unit, and zip drive, in addition to hard drive sizes and CPU speeds. However, what percentage of people that buy these computers care? I would think not many. I think the options on the Dell site would satisfy (and apparently do) the vast majority. Corporate needs are another story, but I was under the impression Dell had or was building custom net ordering ability for that niche. I have seen others post here that Europe is 'different' in that buyers want to 'feel' and 'see' the product, I have no idea to what extent this is true. I suspect that if the price (and reputation) is right, the orders will come. In any event, it's back to 'wait and see' on CPQ....
