This is why option expiration day is wild trading day. A lot of people take off on this day if they don't have to roll out position.
I've just finished rolling out my AMR Feb puts to March.

BTW, MSFT will split after close. I've just got in @153 1/4. I wish I would sell it on Monday for 80.

day after the option expiration day, they sell the stock and buy the option. At about two week
after the previous option expiration day, they sell the option and buy the stock and sell
calls.
