Rock, no sh!t, I suffered a 50% drop from the highs in December, any reason why you think people here would have forgotten that?

the instinet players didn't get screwed that badly if they bought
in the $10's and $11's to cover short positions... (are they allowed
to do this? I don't know)

Please, though, quantify and qualify the "something funky" about
the daily chart. Enlighten us with your genius.
