How can he establish trust in his paper without admitting its massive failures? If he had simply stated the Russian hoax and Hunter laptop coverages were major catalysts for the mistrust that exists today, his screed might have had an air of credibility. He might tinker around the edges but I remain unconvinced there is a commitment to real journalism at the WaPo.
