billwot. I have not read all the posts yet, so I don't know if you have posted to Wiz. Since you feel the way you do, you may want to tell Wiz about that. He seems to be disenchanted with us because we are not reacting to his very good posts. He does put a lot of time and effort into the posts. Luckily I did answer his post from Feb. 4th and todays post. We don't want him to go on to greener pastures like he threatened in his post from today to Ann.

I guess we are all happy with most of our stocks today? You don't have to reply to this post. It is just musings about feelings. gg.

Have a nice weekend

Sonny

Hi Billwot. It looks like the market hates the Symbios deal but adpt apparently has over 700 mill in cash and feels compelled to use it. I wish they would buy back their own stock instead. The stock was downgraded today and lost a few points. I would put my money in cpq if I had any. I think it is very undervalued considering the accretive nature of the dec acquistion and the outstanding growth rate relative to pe.

Billwot, Re: "What are your thoughts on our ADPT in general, and the Symbios deal?"

Adaptec and Symbios, both excellent companies with great products. We have used both. Well, practically everyone with SCSI devices has used Adaptec products. Symbios, not so much, but we use them in our RAID storage products. Very reliable.

I personally like this deal more than the CPQ - DEC one.

Maybe the street not liking ADPT - Symbios deal is that storage companies don't command as high PE ratios as network and computer interface companies, if that's what you want to call ADPT here. Now, ADPT has a good chunk of storage in them. But, hey, it's ADPT's job to grow the company, not the PE.
