Trading to 15 1/2 is of no concern. Closing down a quarter is of no consequence. But I am glad that you got your jollies off on it.

Actually, I think BTIM's move to the 15's is fairly predictable. It has moved from 12 to 18 and this retracement is perfectly normal and in no way bothersome to a patient long investor. There is some evidence (historical technical analysis trends) that the 15's could be the low for a while. This is not in stone (as I am sure you are not willing to etch your 1 dollar target into granite either) but after the correction from 27 to 12 the move to 18 pierced a clear trendline across the tops of the decline. Once pierced, the spot of trendline violation frequently marks the level of support (that would be at about 15-15 1/2).

I would be careful here if I were short. Positive news at this point could propel BTIM quickly into the 20's again.
