<Open and free markets, where individuals are free to market their skills to the highest bidder are the bounty of our economic system.

Egalitarianism only goes so far. It explains inequity by attributing it to "social injustice", rather than personal failure, ineptitude and sloth.>

applause!

Phillip:
Please read my posts to J.D., Alan, and Brendan.

I totally agree with your comments.

What I have done about the $36M contracts to professional
athletes is to cancel my season tickets. Ask Mike
if it works with the Tigers? Ask Ford if it works with
the Lions? It will work if enough of us cancel. If we
come to that point where we recognize that it is bull
sh!! to be paying these prices.

The arena where it has made a difference is professional
baseball. They are hurting financially, or, at least so
the owners claim. I can only speak about Tiger Stadium
where you could shot a cannon through the park on a game
day and not hit over 3 or 4000 paying customers.

I do not know who is responsible for the pendulum theory
but I do believe it works. Do I want Communism? NO!NEVER!
NEVER NO MORE!!!

"Personal failure, ineptitude and sloth" are certainly true
for some in our society but not for all. I wish I had the
solution. I wish I were as wise as Soloman but I am not. I do
think we need to care for our fellow traveler a little more.
Where is that quality lost? In the family. How do we patch up
the family that is not home?

When we can solve these problems we will be rich, not
in dollars, but with that feeling of accomplishment that
far outweighs the greenback.
