I 've seen this kind of price movements just prior to and on the
option expiration date. For example those who sold a large position
of feb 30 calls may short the stock at the same time to keep the
price just under 30. The purpose for this is to pocket the option
premium and to keep the stock at the same time. The short position
is covered after the option has expired. This is of course just
my 2 cents.
