AA, my apologies for misinterpreting your comments vis-…-vis the possible takeover. We agree completely, that investing solely on the prospects of a takeover is unwise!

Regarding your comments about ACLY's "franchise" ... well said ... but is their competitive advantage sustainable? First, with regards to Y2K, the obvious answer is no. This is a bubble opportunity. Although we may disagree on the size and duration of the bubble - we would agree it is not sustainable.

But what about their potential migration business? It is difficult to argue that this is even a "franchise", since ACLY currently has NO migration business. And if the opportunity is large, what are the barriers to entry? I don't believe they are significant.

BTW, I follow a number of Y2K companies and I have shorted ZITL, DDIM and ACLY. This is all part of a larger strategy! (Note: I've also tried to short IAIC, PTUS & ALYD at different times - but they were not marginable through my broker or no shares were available. This is the downside to my particular broker)

IMO, I am shorting a disappearing franchise - i.e. Y2K. I have started with the weakest players and I intend to move to the REAL opportunity when the fundamentals become clearer. Y2K is a short sellers paradise - if you are careful!
Regards, Bill

After DEC's acquisition, it's CPQ vs. HWP, not DEC vs. HWP. CPQ's gross is close to HWP's. For licensing, ACLY is free to license to HWP or anyone. DEC's workforce of 50,000 may drop, but not their business. Ram
