Republicans controlled the House and Senate in 2017 and 2018. They investigated trump, not us. It was a national embarrassment for the party in power to refuse to question trump or Russians about the crimes they committed.

He would have, but "his" Generals wouldn't cooperate. Trump complained bitterly about "his" Generals, and everyone else he had to work with in the White House. Because they wouldn't do what they were told, and refused to break the law or violate the Constitution when he asked them to. If Pence had done what Trump wanted him to, we wouldn't even be having an election this year. And you would be fine with that.
