I bought in more. But I regret not buying even more!
It happened too fast. The Intel announcement actually gave ATY a higher exposure!

Paul:

I was long ATY when I saw the news about Intel. I figured it was terrible news for ATY so I sold out my long position at $42 and went short.

I took a profit the next day and thought ATY would go to about $35 where maybe it would be a buy. I course I totally misjudged the situation and have stood in awe while the stock soared to $45 from $37 in one week!

Now I'm flat and realize that I would have been better off just riding out the storm and staying long. The moral of the story is that one should just buy ATY and hold it for the long term!

Dave

Yes Paul, I'm thoroughly pi^%ed at myself for being suckered with a stop loss. I can't believe there hasn't been a pullback to re-buy. I really can't complain too much though, I got in at 17.00 and sold at 37.5, but it couldn't have been worse timing wise. I've held on with others and been sorry. Sometimes you have no luck. I believe we'll get another chance in the next couple of weeks and we may be very happy for the stop loss. Cheers to the guys who bought in at 38-39 area on the bounce. Also been waiting for a pullback in SYNT. Can't catch it.
Tom A.

Paul I thought about selling when the Intel news came out but I didn't act fast enough. I watched with dismay as it went down but didn't sell. I thought I was indecisive but then it came back. I sold half my holdings at $44 because it was overweighted with ATI at 12% of my portfolio. I now have 6% of my holdings in ATI and look forward to selling at 12% again. Ideally I sold have sold when the Intel news came out and bought back in at $38. But I guess buying and holding good companies like ATI works.

I'm sure that you and others who sold made a good profit and did quite well.

Don

I held on but rather than increase my holdings, its now 25% of my investments, I was going to look at some options. By the time I blinked it was up over $40 again so I dropped the idea. With the other news around I may hang on to $50. At one time I was going to sell out around $35.

<<WELL??? Did anyone else get flushed out a few days ago? Love to hear some other stories of disgust and missed opportunity...>>

Ya ya ya. :-)

I was feeling preeeetty darn smart bailing out at 42.25 when the Intel news came out. Just when you think you understand the markets, they give you a whack up side the head. Oh well, I netted $2000 in 3 weeks, so can't complain tooooooo much.
