Both sides are increasingly desperate... It still remains mostly bogged down, largely in place, more or less as it has been... Russians make incremental gains... but at enormous cost. On pace, in fifty years... they'll make it to Kiev... only with no Russians left to enjoy the win ? [ OK... being overly literal.. I did the math: on pace... it would be 245 years before there are no Russians left...] But... while the war remains mostly "stuck in place"... expansion of the war is accelerating in other ways... including as shifts in a sudden lowering of barriers and thresholds... As it is expanding in intensity... also is expanding more as conflict outside of Ukraine, not only within it... And it seems concerted efforts are being made to remove the remaining obstacles to accelerations... "Parallel" conflicts seem to be "merging"... even as they are each similarly ramping in intensity. "Perfect Storm" issues seem they're being ignored... Hamas is now made mostly not relevant... Hezbollah is being reduced and "pushed north"... and still, it seems, Iran insists on more... fully intending... actively recruiting... seeking to draw others into its proxy war against Israel... ? Clearly appears there is an element of "normalization" occurring... as the wider world gets used to the world being at war. But, in parallel... even as the conflicts appear "fixed in place" or "in balance"... I'd say it is "fixed in place" or "in balance"... in the way a bench grinder is fixed in place... and "balanced" against a thing being ground against it... with persistence fostering costs... and failures... Eventually... erosion working against a more or less solid object... weakens it to the point of failure. And only then... do we find out which is the bench grinder and which is the weaker object being broken...? Also, only then... we find out what exotic effects the failure modes impose... and induce in reaction ? How does change occur ? "Two ways. Gradually. Then suddenly." ? Often in unexpected ways. BattleBots makes it all and only fun... as long as the protective barriers work to keep random projectiles from killing the audience ? The TV show imposes various limits in force and mass seeking to prevent that... but they haven't always worked as intended. Thus far, though, there haven't been contestants conspiring to break the rules, tear down the barriers, and kill as many audience members as possible... as it seems is occurring in reality, now ?
