The hospitals have a sneaky way to put patients in "observation rooms" without calling them hospital rooms so insurance companies will not pay the bills and the hospitals then bill the patients that their insurance will not cover.

Never say yes to an "observation room" at any hospital.

Demand a Hospital room or go home and wait so insurance pays not you.

Your health insurance company or Medicare won't pay for your hospital stay as an observation patient. It would have spent as an inpatient in the same manner. Instead, they'll pay for your hospital stay using the outpatient services part of your health insurance benefit.Jan 24, 2024

Observation rooms are used when the doctors are guessing.
