Thank you, you too. Family is a few hours drive to another city and I still see them during holidays or camping at the lake. When I bought my house 24 years ago the basement was already developed with a separate entrance, separate laundry, and separate kitchen and for about the last fifteen years a friend who moved to Calgary to work for his brother's irrigation company has been living there. I have not raised the rent for about five years and last year he bought a minority ownership in the company. The rent, complemented with what I can glean from the stock market, is what I have for spending money though mom's instruction to ask myself "Are you sure that is where you want to spend that dollar" is followed more now than when I was working. He is a good renter and it would be very hard for me to move to Edmonton and replace this setup.
