"Any idea what it costs to produce the Palm Pilot? - if they could market the thing at $150 they could shift maybe 20m units, rather than 1m, and they'd really have a platform then."

Good point Nigel. I don't know about the cost, but it will be interesting to see how the PalmPilot fares over the next year or two. Does anyone here know what % of revenues the Pilot represented for the most recent quarter? Tiny I'm sure; just wondering if it could grow to be significant. I posted a month ago or so about my friend's employer supplying the sales people each with a Pilot Pro for contact as well as inventory information. My guess is they can update the inventory info while on the road as well via a modem connection.

Another factor for the stock is that the name recognition can't hurt their networking product sales. I just hope the technology/quality their competes well with the likes of Bay, Ascend, Cisco, etc.

My guess is that its below $90 to manufacture.
