I think Putin and Trump are on opposing sides of Iran - Israel conflict. While the Russian Federation mostly has Orthodox Christianity as its main religion, some 10% are Muslims. The Jewish population, very large during 19-th century and 20-th century communism mostly left Russia for Israel and USA, so he does not care. Putin aligns himself with China, India, BRICs and the Saudi Arabia, Iran as well. So there it goes, also on opposing sides of US -China conflict, which is likely to intensify under Trump. Putin is KGB trained and is no dummy. It’s what I read. Putin wants Trump to dump US support for its Ukraine proxy. Iran is Putin’s proxy, make no mistake about it! He is aligning himself with the Arab world to weaken NATO, also from within through Turkey. Putin is NOT a friend, he wants to use Trump’s business acumen for him to dump losers, i.e., Ukraine proxy. Trump probably wants to go after his political enemies, the Democrats and the Biden family for using Ukraine to get $. Super corrupt country, I am sure the Biden family got a lot of $ through unaccountable Ukrainian Proxy war.
