Are you talking about covered calls? Knew a guy on the WDC thread who put 1/4 of his $2mm in WDC and generated a good income by writing cc on his stock. You gotta be sure of the stock. Not very exciting, but in a non trending market, a good bet.

Whoa now that takes some guts....

does that word "bounce" mean anything to you

the idea that they dont strip the calls is interesting....I have never really looked at it under this scenario...but I would think when it tanks..they would strip it right off....hmmmmmm

Mr Bluff:

------>Donald, Lisa, Nemer, Betty, etc..
.....take note of the disaster of the day (or a big mover). Sell calls that were in the money yesterday but are now out of the money because of the news. Wait a week or so and take your profit. It seems that the "fat" is always slow to melt out of the calls.

You asked for candid---
here's my candid---

1) the "locals", as Ike calls them on the Idea thread, or the pit folks, who conjur up the prices on the option floor, are, IMO, the creme de la creme of pit vipers.
Most everyone on SI disparages the MMs ( who serve a useful purpose to maintain liquidity, albeit a selfserving purpose), but the MM folks are back in elementary school compared to the pit vipers on the option market graduate school level.

2) what if your "expected" downward move goes against you and proceeds in the other direction for whatever reason ?

3) if it were that easy, everyone would be doing it.

4) it ain't that easy.

I checked your profile and determined you weren't a newbie and therefore didn't have to sugarcoat any of my response------gggg

---->In particular I am interested in makeing a system of this that could be done by an idiot.

boy o boy----you're gonna fit in WELL on this thread.....that's what Lisa, David, Kev, Kevin, Jer, me and a host of others are seeking.
This statement is not meant in a demeaning or negative manner.

I have read several of your posts and can see that you will be a positive addition to the TSO.
To transpose one of Patricks posts over the weekend ( I misread the statement at first and reread it after I quit laughing )

"I posted something about the lunatic phase over on the TSO"
I had originally comprehended it to read---"I had posted something about this phase over on the lunatic TSO"
Now calm down, Pat----no disrespect to you either, but I was skimming the SI posts and was in my speed read mode as I've been absent since Friday..........

Welcome and jump in---the water here gets murky and chilly at times but there's always the feeling of disfunction.........gggg

Regards---Nemer
