(Too bad my respect for him fell away after he joined the Q Continuum.) Meanwhile, remdesivir (from Gilead Sciences here in South San Francisco) itself was a repurposed drug. It originally failed Ebola trials, but after the pandemic started, remdesivir was repurposed as an early treatment for COVID.
