I don’t view this that way, merely as extremely polarized America. I was a foreign student and was attacked by someone jobless during recession of 1991 because I was a foreigner taking jobs away from Americans. I was a student sitting on TA and soft money research grant. A host of an older female student in her 30s lost his job and ended up cheating on his wife with her. Russian women are gorgeous. I was barely of age to drink alcohol in America and was carded all the time. Of course, in Russia that age was 16 not 21, so I was outraged. I showed them my soviet passport in liquor store, the look on the face was priceless. My English was bad. You could get a drivers license at that time without being a citizen, the rules changed after 9-11.
