Excellent points, except for the fact that Tip O'Neill, the House speaker, basically gave Reagan what he wanted in terms of cuts because of his strong victory in 1980.

I'm all for getting rid of the Dept. of Education and other waste, but. this will increase the number of unemployed by a nice margin, hindering growth before they find another job.

Wasn't US deficit with Reagan at about a trillion and more consumer based? Or was it more consumer prior to WW2? Then after the war, Govts began borrowing with no intention of repaying?

Today $36 trillion, having 1 trillion in interest annually all do to govt borrowing. In 10yrs 100t, 5t interest?

From what I understand is, someone has to buy the debt. China was, and is now selling. The Neocons/Biden Admin putting sanctions on Russia's private citizens showed the world US cannot be trusted.
And if no one buys US debt, we will have to default on all govt debt.
Remember, Wars will require more debt causing more inflation.

Trump is up against a World in want of war. Though does have what looks like a great team, so we'll see...
