That's 35 year old information. I'd love to see a modern assessment of the realities of an EMP burst. We're still recovering from the cyclone bomb that hit PNW and the power grid recovery is very spotty. Some areas unaffected while others won't have power back for days yet. Over 250K still without power here as I write this, from Puget Sound Energy's website. The deepest red of the overlapping polygons are centered over where my parents live when they're not in CA. Power is not expected to be back on there for 2-3 days yet at the earliest. pse.com
