Or maybe they can work remotely like government workers.
We already work with a mix of remote and in-office engineers. But dealing with remote engineers who live 13.5 hours away is a real PITA.

In any case, I laugh every time I see people talking about the productivity benefits of WFH. They always claim that, if employers can't trust you to meet your deliverables while working remotely, they don't deserve you.

In my line of work, where the picture changes every 24 hours, even strong independent contributors can't keep up when working remote.

So yeah, forcing some of my employees "back to where they came from" is going to impact our productivity. And for what? So that we can hire rEaL aMeRiCaNs?

My only hope is that Leon the Muskperger prevents Trump from making such a move, since he too relies upon engineers (who work in the office, mind you) that could be deported under a Trumptatorship.
