More: 3Com announces strategic alliance for products
The Irish Times - Fri, Feb 20 1998

3Com Corporation, which employs more than 1,000 people in Ireland, has
announced a series of new products and alliances to accelerate the widespread
deployment of voice, video and data applications on a single, converged network.

It has established a strategic alliance with Newbridge Networks to resell each
other's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) products. 3Com
has adopted the Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) for remote access providers
- the system enables Internet service providers (ISPs) to offer long-distance
telephone calls and faxes over the Internet for the price of local calls.
