If BAAT invention really worked all the car manufactures, Nascar and all race teams would be beating down Joe's door.
Wolf, here are a few reasons for my skepticism of BAAT technology.
From baat homepage I saw that Joe had a scheduled presentation and question and answer session in a chat room, so I went at
the appointed time. I asked Joe why he didn't use a controlled test with 2 identical cars and engines but one engine with his
baat modifications. He replied that he did use identical cars. Well, that was a deceptive answer. We could read right on his home
page that he was using a Yamar little 3 cylinder 25 hp diesel engine. CEO's are held accountable for public statements and this
statement alone should be enough to put him in jail. I then stated that you had a diesel in the baat car. Well, he didn't reply to
that and then I found that I could no longer post into the chat room. But I still could view. Very strange. Someone whose
nickname was Ferrari in the chat room kept pressing Joe into talking about the BAAT invention. Joe said that the techknoligy was very
easy to apply to existing engines. That it was simply consisted of intake and exhaust modifications and a different camshaft.
Well I don't see how these modifications can be patented; these are standard mods that every racing engine builder knows. I
happen to have a little expertise in this field having owned a performance shop and building several record setting engines. My
employees and I have built hundreds of performance engines from hopped up street engines to top fuel nito-methane burning monsters.
Changing intake and exhaust porting is standard performance mod that tuners have been doing for years and years. I had
what's called a flow bench to test these experimental modifications and great performance increases can be made by doing so. This
in addition to different exhaust header length and backpressure tuning can drastically change the characterics of any engine. I
had an engine dyno to test my modifications to get peak power. None of this is new and can't be patented. As for Joe's camshaft,
you can buy over the counter at performance shops, what is called torque cams, these will give you better mileage. Nothing new.
Norris cams used to supply me with experimental cams that we would try different profiles on to get the best performance. No way to
patent this stuff, all common knowledge. You can retard the cam timing in any engine and this will give you better top end power,
advance it and get better low end power and gas mileage. Just move the cam a tooth or 2 on the cam chain, no machining required. I
used to also work for Honda for a while, you know that their engineers built engines with oval pistons and 8 valves per cylinder,
they go to great lengths to get max performance and gas mileage, and BAAT can beat them at this? I don't think so.
Another simple mod for greatly increased gas mileage and power is to increase the compression ratio. As simple as milling
the head. This one simple mod can give you an easy 30% increase in power and mileage. All common knowledge. The trick is doing
these mods and still passing emissions. Now this is a very complex and difficult challenge. I changed my cam timing from US specs
to European specs on my Ferrari and got and increase of about 15% better mileage and power, but it won't pass emissions.
BAAT couldn't sell his technology to the automakers, I really don't think he has any technology, Joe's trying to sell stock and he's good at it. I know I won't change anyone's mind. Greed and dreams of quick and easy riches will blind people. How a test with a stock gas engine against a little diesel could actually take people in is beyond me.
Hey, anybody got an old Geo? I'll pull the diesel engine out of my sailboat and tweek it a little. I know we can get better then 100 mpg. Hey we'll sell stock and be rich. haha

Someone said:"They are looking at the speeds that would be driven in other countries. " (a reference to the 40 mph test speeds)

To use a defense such as this to support their (apparent) inability to produce a "real world" MPG figure for "real world" use is pretty lame.
It could just as easily be argued that other countries have highways with speeds a lot *FASTER* than ours, couldn't it?

Gearing and torque play a large part in any such tests. If my anticipated needs were flat level roads with a smooth surface, I could *EASILY* supplement my Hyundai Excel (own two of them...don't laugh, they're paid for) powerplant to attain *BETTER* than 100mpg. If anyone wants to question this.....before I even offer an explanation of *HOW* I am going to do it, they need to be sending me blank checks (signed of course) and *I* will produce some dazzling press releases, and *WE* can start a little enterprise of our own.

The fact that a diesel engine was choosen speaks *VOLUMES* to anyone who knows Dick about energy efficiency. You do *NOT* have to be a mechanical engineer or anything else to read between the lines and see the *BIG* picture here.

You want to drive a GEO diesel in anything more than a *DOWNHILL* environment?

Now, as Dan M. would say, go on, get out of here!!!

PS....noticed you listed motorcycles as one of your interests. I used to road-race. WERA and AMA 6 and 8 hour endurance races. Hey, maybe we could be Buds??????

Cheers!
