OT (perhaps)

One of the most memorable TV ad campaigns of all-time. John Houseman was known to be difficult to work with... go figure!

Some of you might also recall he played the evil CEO in the original Rollerball film from 1975, starring James Caan.

It's an allegorical film set in a near-future 2018, where corporations have replaced countries and disagreements between them are decided by a blood-sport instead of the courts. AI is featured in it and totalitarianism is well represented, as are the lifestyles of the rich, famous, and debauched.

Blade Runner was set in 2019 with similar themes. When I originally saw it in 1982, my subconscious knew I recognized the opening cityscape visuals from somewhere. The gargantuan stacks of fire belching their gas burn-off plumes into the atmosphere were very memorable.

We all know what happened in our reality, in 2020.

All too visionary if you ask me.

When P/E ratios start reverting back to historical means again is anyone's guess... but it will happen.
