Slowly I fill a cup with the scalding broth, and pick it up with both hands enjoying the warmth on cold fingers. Then, turning back to the window stare again into the night as rain drops crack against the glass sending glittering streams down the pane. The memory that is pain and yearning escapes again its tortured case and colors the room in blood red shades of sadness and desire. Emotions surge and finally snap leaving me staring blankly into the darkness, feeling only the dull painful ache of an empty heart.
