He remarked that Muslims who have emigrated from the East can see how the prophecy of Islam entering every home is “almost realized.” In response to a caller from California, asking about the authenticity of the hadith according to which the Muslims would conquer the Vatican, Abu Zayd responded that the hadith is authentic, and it uses the word, “Rome” to refer to Europe, which includes Italy and the Vatican as well, when the Mahdi arrives.
