Thanks Colin for the clarification. You hit on just what I had been getting at, the "reporting" issue. And the vagaries of same. I'm not sure why you and Joel make the jump that I am asking these questions for myself. I only ask them because it was at THAT point in my pondering that the uncertainty arose. I thought I would throw the question out there for all to ponder. Remember, lots of people think of questions, but are sometimes afraid to be the first to broach a subject, for fear of exactly the kind of condescension displayed in Joel's post to me. Further, as in any trade or business, there are often losses in initial years. I attempted to make that point in my last post by hypothesizing light-heartedly about someone who takes awhile to learn his/her craft. <g> Incidentally, I have read through this and other related threads here, and have seen that you are always polite to your "postees," while displaying the humility we all know is necessary in interpersonal dialogue, especially in the written form. It's sometimes hard to see a wink, a smile, or a tongue firmly planted in someone's cheek when reading a post. For this I thank you, as I'm sure everyone does. But I'm curious as to why Joel finds the need to so often deride and denigrate people he imagines inferior to him, either intellectually or financially. Not even counting the Mr. Green battle, he displays this behavior in two other related threads. What is so lacking in his life that he needs to act that way in order to make him feel better about himself? No doubt there will be an immediate, and nasty post from him, back to me, but I won't engage in a battle with him. It's just sad that some people like to hide behind a keyboard, and try to make up for their own inadequacies and unhappiness in life by disparaging others. I wish more people like Peter would upbraid him when he acts that way, so that he may learn some manners. Like an unruly child, he needs some guidance. Thanks again, Colin.
