Riechers: Excellent article, thanks for bringing it to the thread's attention.

As i understand it, the 'free pcs' will be refurbished ones and therefore shouldn't affect the likes of CPQ,DELL,HP etc and as the article states it may put a lot of pressure on Oracle's plan for the cheap NetPc. If anything this free stuff should attract a lot more people into the net and perhaps PC makers can get them when they are ready to upgrade and therefore this could be good news for PC companies after all as someone else would do the leg work to hook the masses. What do you think??

Riechers: Thanks for the article. The concept is not new. 100 years ago a man by the name of Theodore Vale installed free telephone sets.
