FMK: If, Lev was being deliberately conservative to throw water on the runup, he did a good job of it. If, as you suggest, he was doing this because institutions don't like volatility, the several money managers participating in the conference call must not have appreciated what he was trying to do. I heard a lot of impatience in the questions of the different fund managers.

May be that the machines can run at full speed, but didn't LD state that one serious problem was mixing a 500 gallon batch of "goo" as opposed to doing a 5 gallon bucket? Maybe this is where the dichotomy is....the machines work ok but putting the correct mix of "goo" (I assume LD isn't a technocrat!) together & into the machine reliably is the "bug" he referenced!
