It was the CIA that got rid of Assad. Russian influence in the region is now nil and Iran's influence in the region has been greatly reduced. That's the good news. The rebels who have taken over are Isis terrorists, who ultimately will be defeated by Israel once internal civil war in Syria is played out over the coming months.

Of course we all know Russia losing in Ukraine made Syria fall.

At least, drumpf isn't going to war in Syria AGAIN.

The timing suggests that Trump winning provided the opportunity.
Or maybe they decided to move now instead of wait until Trump gave his BFF PooTin the leeway to rearm Assad.
