Sergio--I have been watching NKE for a couple of weeks since the shoes started to show strength. If I was to buy options I would look to see if they have leaps(this is getting kind of corny). Seriously, I think this one can go. Myron

Sergio--Here are a quartet of stocks for perusal. I don't know if they have the qualities of SRSL and GLUX, but they may have some value in them.

GBL
GEOW
IFMX
XCED

Also, Did you see that GRST broke out? I'll keep searching. BTW, how about another CYPB from your crytal ball. Myron

PS--It appears that GLUX and other airlines are pulling back because of oil uncertainty and IRAQ. They could become good buys again soon.

Hi Amigos,

I have been reading your thread for about a month now and quite enjoy it and has given me some great stock picks and ideas. So I will offer one of mine. Remember you get what you pay for :-)

I believe this stock is a long term hold and value play since it lacks any high tech gizmo that will rocket it to the moon. Very small float and low liquidity, but for stock trading under 2 bucks very solid fundamentally.

Chicago Pizza & Brewery (CHGO) = Is Pizza and brewpub restaurant operating mainly out of Southern CA and the Northwest with 26 to 28 locations. They operate under the name BJ's Pizza and Grill. I have personally tried their product and think it is outstanding and the place is always packed. They also have won numerous awards for their deep dish pizza and brewed beer.

They went public in November 1996 at $5 and traded in that range until March 97 when it crashed to $1 to $1.5 (currently trading at $2). The cause for the decline I far as I can tell was the bankruptcy of their underwriter and market maker (Boston Group). CHGO continues to show strong sales increases, which is up to approx 25 million in annual sales, and excellent same store sales increases.

Total outstanding shares is 6.4 million with 1.3 million owned by insiders. As of 9/30/97 book value was $1.89 a share. Taking out intangible assets, which represents the purchase premium for the northwest locations and capitalization of certain conversions costs, tangible book value is $1.02 a share of which $.45 is in cash.

CHGO should start posting consistent positive earnings starting in the second half of this year. They are currently showing operating losses due to conversions of Northwest restaurants into their format and should be through the majority of them by third quarter of this year.

CHGO had a nice run from 1 9/16 to 2 this week on no news and relatively light volume. So you might want to wait for it to back off a little, but who knows. 4th quarter 12/31/97 earnings are expected to announced in the middle of March. I expect about 6 to 6.5 million in sales and a small operating loss.

My average purchase price is 1 11/16 and don't plan on selling until its well north of $5 or unless the story significantly changes.

There is a thread for CHGO for anybody who is interested. Sorry for the long post.

Good trading,

Rory
