Look, first, do you admit Trump lied about the countries paying the tariff and not the consumer. If not then you are not posting in good faith, because I posted him saying that. And modern economic theory says tariffs should be used as a last resort, and item by item, not broad brush, or they are generally counter productive. I have done a lot of negotiating in my life, and you don't start out by using a billy club on your friends, or even those you are negotiating with . But Trump is a fucking bully, he likes to bully people. That is what he is doing and he can't wait to use the power of the United states to bully people. He said, and I heard him:" I am greedy and I want to be greedy for you"!. I don't want anyone being greedy for me. And so he is using the perceived power of the US to be GREEDY. That is NO way to treat our friends or anyone for that matter. He should have negotiated in good faith! And waited until he was in office! China already said they are cutting 690 billion in soy bean purchases in retaliation. The last time Trump did that he had to rescue the farmers with a 28 billion grant package we had to pay for. And he is also doing this as a means of cutting more taxes on the rich. And it is a stupid idea. It is all part of his hair brained idea and he is already piling up enemies with our allies! That also needs to be taken into account.
