Novell Unveils Discounted Reseller Kit In UK 02/20/98 Newsbytes, Friday, February 20, 1998 at 14:49 BRACKNELL, BERKSHIRE, ENGLAND, 1998 FEB 20 (NB) -- By Steve Gold, Newsbytes. Novell [NASDAQ:NOVL] has taken the wraps off a new reseller kit that it claims dramatically cuts the cost for dealers in the UK to enter the networking and Internet markets. The new reseller kit is said to be worth UKP 7,500 (US$ 12,500), yet costs resellers just UKP 199 (US$ 340), and includes multiuser versions of all Novell's major products, including GroupWise, IntraNetWare, IntraNetWare for Small Business, ManageWise and BorderManager. According to Novell, its Reseller Advantage Kit (RAK) will appeal to several categories of dealer, including resellers who are not currently expert in networking who would like to move into selling network systems; existing Novell resellers who need to update their information and collateral; and resellers who sell competitive products, but who would like to evaluate the latest Novell goodies. Murray Treece, Novell's channel sales director for the UK, said that, as well as software, the kit also contains videos on subjects ranging from IntraNetWare and Windows NT to Novell NDS and Enterprise Design, as well as several companion CDs and training discount offers. "We want to encourage resellers to have all of our products to demonstrate to customers and to use for their own businesses," he said, adding that the networking giant remains committed to the indirect channel. "This is another way of making it easier for resellers to work with Novell and sell our products effectively. We have put together the best reseller kit in the industry and priced it aggressively so that it is a very straightforward decision for any reseller serious about networking and the Internet," he explained.
